Backup System
Few minutes ago, I was looking for my masters first draft of my thesis and realized that I have deleted the wrong file yesterday. My document was lost and when I do a backup retrieval I noticed I don't have the final copy of my thesis. The one I managed to retrieve was not the updated version. My backup system was ran before any modification was done to the file. *Sigh* I did emailed my lecturer yesterday attaching the file to her, right now I'm asking her to forward the mail back to me. I have even deleted the Sent Items in my Outlook, so I can't get a copy of the mail.Suddenly, I realized I should have the cached version of my thesis. I then used my Google Desktop Search tool and I managed to get the cached version of it. I have all the information from the cached file, I added those information back to my word document. *Phew*
From my Google Desktop Search, the file attachment size that I sent to my lecturer was 172 KB. The file I have now is 162 KB. But what the heck...the copy I have is good enough. I shall wait for her to forward me the original file. I finally realized the importance of a backup system.
